     Edward Efaw is better known as Beanpole. At the age of 22, he started his own band. The name is the band was Jug Head and Beanpole and the Bluegrass Ramblers. Although the Bluegrass Ramblers played bluegrass music, they were best known for their comedian act. In the early 1960's he changed the name of the band to The Bluegrass Mountaineers.
 

     Beanpole plays Rhythm Guitar and sings Lead and Harmony Vocals. He is an avid songwriter, which supplies the Bluegrass Mountaineers with plenty of material to perform.
 

     Beanpole has 6 children, 11 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren.
