  Larry Efaw was born May 13, in Bever Falls, PA. He started picking the Mandolin at the age of 7. Larry started playing the mandolin with the Mountaineers, when his son, Stanley joined the mountaineers he started playing Lead Guitar. Over his musical career he has performed as a guest with Rhonda Vincent, Dr. Ralph Stanley, Bill Monroe, Jimmy Martin, Goldwing Express, Lewis Family, and Del McCoury just to mention a few.  Larry has won numerous awards and championships including 1st place Ohio State Mandolin championship and 2nd Place Ohio State Guitar Championship.

    In 1987 he started promoting Bluegrass Music. Now Larry & his wife Lisa of 24 years, promote 3 concerts. Perrysburg, Greenwich and the  O. J. Work Auditorium. His greatest musical influence is The Stanley Brothers. Over the years he has become great friends with Dr. Ralph Stanley. Ralph performed on his latest CD " Clinch Mountain Traditions".  Larry and his wife Lisa, have 4 children, and 4 grandchildren with 1 on the way. Larry enjoys spending time with his family, promoting bluegrass music, and working on his 1985 silver eagle.
